To return a rented DVD, Push Return and place the DVD in the return slot. A: The new releases are updated weekly and available every Tuesday, which is the national release date. A: The machine accumulates charges PER NIGHT, PER DVD, plus tax. The customers credit or check card is charged when the DVD is returned. A: The NEW Connections2 includes this feature and it is available now on the S250 machines. For registered members only, they can reserve a dvd selection using the website. A: We use the most secure method available for transactions and all communications use 128-bit encryption. Credit card information is not stored on the kiosk computer system. A: The kiosk does not print out receipts. A customer can download a receipt from the operators website, or on the new S250 they can enter their email address and a receipt will be emailed after the rental is returned. A: Yes. The owner operator has a variety of different options. There is Calendar based pricing whichi provides an option to over-ride the default rental fees on a specific day of the week. There is also Flexible pricing that provides the owner operators to set different rental fees for Blu-ray or games.

A: The kiosk and the software allow the owner operators to provide different media such a Blu-ray and games with different rental fees from regular DVDs. A: DVD rentals are on the rise, so much so that the movie studios are concerned as they are seeing an increase in rentals and a decline in DVD purchases. This is an industry that is seeing steady growth and consumers are pulling DVDs out of kiosks in record numbers. The growth is continuing in the midst of a recession. Video industry analysts estimate that the kiosk rental market, which totalled $519 million last year, will reach $1.4 billion in five years. A: Redbox is primarily targeting the large national or regional big box stores. There are a lot of opportunities that exist where Redbox would not consider. In fact we are contacted daily by companies that have been declined by Redbox. A: The DVDNow Kiosk is covered with a One Year parts and labor warranty. This is not to be confused with our support, which we provide for as long as you own the machine. Extended warranties are also available. A: Yes, the kiosk also comes with a host of software tools that will give you full control of your kiosk and your business. You can run a variety of reports that show what titles and types of titles are most popular. Additionally, you can import that data into other data management systems such as Excel or Quicken. Our system is fully automated even to the point of tracking late returns and charging the customer a late fee! This means potentially hundreds of dollars a month in automatic late fees. If a movie is not returned it is simply sold to that customer at a profit—automatically! A: There are a limited number of companies who supply the movies for the entire DVD rental industry including Blockbuster and RedBox. As a DVDNow Distributor you will have access to these companies at industry pricing to pre-order your new releases. However, as the owner of the kiosk, you are free to purchase movies from any source. New Release DVD shipments from the distributor are typically delivered 5 days prior to a Tuesday release. A: If you are working with one of the DVD distributors, you will have access to tools to help you make decisions on purchases. There is also a representative that can suggest what to buy and what not to. Typically, we recommend that you stick to purchasing only new releases for your kiosk. Over time you will understand what your customers want to see and you can load accordingly.
